Yesterday GameCog announced they would be starting their second competition. At the moment you can vote for the theme, and on the 23rd of May, the competition will start. Here are the themes up for voting:
Innovation
Something that is original, unique and has a special twist to make it that much better.
Old and Dusty
Create a game that has an older feel to it. The graphics and gameplay could be very modern, but the story and ideas could be old (and dusty?)
Clandestine
Whether a prevalent gameplay mechanism or a subtly implied plot line, work some sort of secrecy into your game.
Futuristic
Create a game the way that you picture the future.

The new layout and color scheme for Grabeorama.com has been uploaded and has replaced the old one. The reviews can now be sorted in ascending and descending order thanks to mySQL which I have recently learned.
I hope you like the new look :)

Today a new version of the Image Editor that will be included as the default image editor for GM 8 was released. The new version has many new changes including the bucket fill problem being fixed.
However many suggestions were not added due to the fact that they would be to complicated for novice users. One of these suggestions is that of implementing layers.

Website Redesign

I am currently working on redesigning the main website. I have changed the layout to a more simple one, and the color scheme has changed from red/gray, to green/blue. The new design is not currently visible, it will take a long time to transfer all the data.
The main reason for the change is that as I am still learning web design tricks and tips, I discovered a major flaw in the old theme, and it needed a make-over. Also with the new theme, hopefully, I will have an atom or RSS feed (maybe even both!) and I am still learning mySQL, so hopefully that will be implemented into the reviews page to make them easier to find.
I will post when I have made further progress with the changes.

I have created a website (within grabeorama.com) for Shoot A Shape, you can find the website here.
On the website you can find news, screenshots and can contact me for help or info on the game.
You can't donwload the game yet but I am working on a demo, which should be up soon!

Shoot-A-Shape Dev

I created the game's first enemy (or shape) today, the Square.
So far you can move the triangle (the triangle at the bottom of the screenshot --> ) left and right using the mouse.
Using the left mouse button, you can shoot an ordinary bullet to hit the squares that scroll from side to side. Pressing the right mouse button, creates a bomb, that when it explodes releases another 30 bullets in random directions. There is no limit to the number of bullets or bombs, but I play to put a limit of 3 bombs.

I think I might add boses after so many points are scores (haven't made a scoring system yet!) to make a bit more of a challenge.
